Scholarship

Opera Universitaria prioritise investing in young people and giving them the opportunity to develop their talents and skills; for this reason, one of the founding principles of the right to education is the scholarship system, which enables all capable and deserving students, even those without means, to pursue their studies.

The range of possible beneficiaries is very broad, and they can benefit from two modes of intervention:

INTERVENTION BY OPERA UNIVERSITARIA:

• students enrolled at the University of Trento, at the Bonporti Conservatory of Music, at the Advanced School for Linguistic Mediators and Translators of Trento, and at the Trentino Art Academy Institute of Higher Education; the call for application is published on the website approximately in June each year. 
• students enrolled in Higher Education courses organised by the Autonomous Province of Trento (Provincial law no. 5 of 7 August 2006 - Education and Training System of Trentino). The call for application is approved in November each year.

INTERVENTIONS DELEGATED BY THE AUTONOMOUS PROVINCE OF TRENTO FOR STUDENTS RESIDING IN TRENTINO: 

• enrolled in bachelor’s and master's degree programmes in the Health Professions and five-year degree programme in Medicine and Surgery (art. 43 of Provincial Law 8/96)
• enrolled in Health Care Worker (OSS) courses (art. 43 of Provincial Law 8/96);
• enrolled in bachelor’s and master's degree programmes at other Universities in Italy or at foreign Universities (art. 23 of Provincial Law 9/91); 
• enrolled in academic or non-academic tertiary courses in Italy and abroad, who have accumulated capital while attending secondary school (paragraph 3b of Article 23 of L.P. 9/91).

The scholarship amounts vary depending on the economic condition and the chosen educational path of eligible students. The amounts have been progressively increased over time to always be a real and adequate support for the changing living costs.
