WHAT IS L'ATENEO DEI RACCONTI ABOUT?

Ateneo dei racconti is a competition that allows the main characters of the university world (students, professors, administrators...) to take up paper and pen and tell stories, hobbies, fears, experiences, pieces of life, personal episodes.

HOW THE COMPETITION WORKS

First: writing…

The 10 best stories are selected by a panel of experts and improved in a two-day workshop. This year the artistic director was the writer Marco Balzano, who shared tools and tricks of professional writing with the finalists.

Then: theatre...

The finalist stories are brought on stage during three evenings, which are open to the public. These evenings represent how much enriching and complex this competition/experience can be.

SHOWS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AT SANBÀPOLIS

Tuesday 9 April, at 8.45 p.m., the literary evening at Sanbàpolis, with a lecture-performance on happiness by Marco Balzano. He will deliver a literary excursus about, but also an investigation into, the social implications of the pursuit of happiness and its meaning. Why do we all want to be happy?

After Mr. Balzano, an original musical performance, a reading by ATU, will follow. Last but not least, the award ceremony for the best story will close this evening. The story is chosen by the Literary Panel and the Popular Panel, which voted for its favourite story.

The following events will take place on 16 and 23 April, again at the Sanbàpolis theatre at 8.45 p.m. During these two evenings the finalist stories will be staged and the award for the best performance will be given by the Artistic Panel and the Popular Panel (composed of the audience in the auditorium).
